Your eMerchantClub eCommerce website is a large application that offers a wide range of features you can utilize in many different ways to help your business. Because the application is so large and offers so many tools, it can be easy to overlook certain capabilities or to simply not know about certain features. This article will help to remind you of some key features which can be a great help to the progress of your business.
For example, did you know that you can use the Data Update feature to update your site’s products with SMC’s most current inventory in just a few clicks? Using this feature, you can also easily remove all of the discontinued products from your store. With this powerful feature, you can nearly instantly restock your store with up-to-date items and get rid of items no longer offered by SMC. Also, have you encouraged your shoppers to leave product reviews? While this feature is enabled on your site, your shoppers can leave reviews of your products. The more favorable reviews you have on your site, the more likely you will be to make sales. You have complete control over which reviews are displayed on your site.
Similarly, your site also contains a Testimonials section. Favorable testimonials can be very influential to other shoppers who are considering purchasing from your site.

After a shopper places an order and it has been fulfilled, consider sending them an e-mail thanking them for their purchase and kindly asking them to leave a testimonial or a review of your product. Leave a link to your testimonials page and a link to the details page of one of the products they’ve purchased where they can add their product review. Or how about coupons? Have you taken advantage of this effective and easy-to-use feature of your site? Coupons can be great motivators for people to purchase from your site and they are easy to set up. Go to the Marketing > Promotions > Coupon Promotions section and click on Add Coupon Promotion. To create a coupon, simply fill out the four fields on this page.

After this is set up, shoppers can enter the Coupon ID on the checkout page to get 10% off their order.

You can then e-mail this coupon ID to any of your registered shoppers so they can use it to get a 10% discount on your site. For example, after an order is fulfilled, send your shopper an e-mail thanking them for their purchase and offer them the 10% off coupon for their next purchase. You can also include your request that they leave a testimonial or product review along with your coupon offer. For more information, click here to read the manual page on coupons.
In addition to individually e-mailing coupon codes to each shopper, did you know that you can also easily e-mail all your registered shoppers at once? Go to the E-mail All Registered Shoppers page located in the Sales > Shoppers section. On this screen you can enter a message such as:
Thank you for registering with [your store name with a link to your site]. As a token of appreciation for registering with us, please accept this coupon which you can use to receive 20% off your next purchase. Just enter the code ThankYou in the promotional coupon area when you check out. We look forward to serving you soon.
Sincerely,
[Your store name with a link to your site]
On the E-mail All Registered Shoppers page you can send this e-mail to all of your registered shoppers in one click. Be sure to include a link to your site in the e-mail. Also, be sure that you have created a coupon with a coupon ID of ThankYou before sending this e-mail.
Or how about Abandoned Cart Promotions? If you have a Version 9 or 10 eMerchantDeluxe website, have you taken advantage of this incredibly effective feature? This feature enables your site to automatically send your shoppers an e-mail containing a discount code if they leave your site with un-purchased items remaining in their shopping cart. The great thing about this feature is that it doesn’t take a lot of work from you. All you have to do is set up the promotion on your site and your site does all the work for you. As soon as a shopper leaves an item in their cart for longer than the amount of time that you specify, they will be sent an e-mail offering a discount of your choosing with a link back to your website. Have you made use of the Price quote type option that is available for each shopper? If you have an eMerchantPro site or above, then you have the ability to set different levels of pricing for each shopper. Click on the Edit link next to a shopper on the Sales > Shoppers > All Registered Shoppers screen. This takes you to the shopper detail page, where you’ll see a dropdown list labeled Price quote type.
Setting the price quote to Open House or a Yellow will give that shopper the specified discount on all products. When that shopper logs in to your store, all of the products will display either the Open House or the Yellow price. The Other option allows you to specify a certain percentage which that shopper will receive off all products.

You can use the Product Price Setting page in the Products section to specify how much of a discount the Yellow price or the Open House price is for every product. For example, entering 40% on the open house price setup will set the open house price of all items to 40% off of the retail price.

Therefore, any shoppers who you give the Open House price quote will receive a 40% discount on all items.
